2013 marks the twentieth anniversary of Longchamp’s Roseau It-bag. In celebration of the Roseau’s longevity, Longchamp have created the Roseau Heritage – an adaption of the original tote; the new style requires 300 different operations to produce the overall finished product! The bag we see today is evidently different to the Roseau of 1993, having had many subtle updates throughout the past two decades. This has even included the removal of the original bamboo toggle, the feature that initially gained the iconic bag its name (roseau is French for reed). The new Heritage tote is made from the finest calf leather and is supposed to ‘become more beautiful the more it is used’, drawing parallels to the heritage of the Longchamp brand itself. Available in two sizes and four shades – Brown, Terracotta, Taupe and Sandy – it cannot be denied that Longchamp’s latest creation will continue the luxurious and iconic reputation of the Roseau.
